RATES

During our phone consultation, we will discuss my fees and address any concerns you might have. Should you feel my rate is outside the limits of what you are comfortable paying, I will connect you to alternate providers.

PAYMENT

I accept cash, check, or credit card.

Insurance

I am an out-of-network provider. While I am not paneled with any insurance company, my professional services qualify for reimbursement under most insurance plans. Many people who have out-of-network benefits find that they are eligible for partial or full reimbursement. Coverage for my services will vary depending on your health insurance provider and specific plan.

To receive coverage through your out-of-network benefits, patients pay me in full and then submit a claim to their insurance. I will provide the necessary “superbill form” to submit for out-of-network claim filing. After the claim is submitted and filed, individuals receive a reimbursement check directly from the insurance company approximately three weeks after the claim has been submitted.

I recommend calling your insurance company and asking the following questions to determine the coverage that you have:

  • Does your insurance plan have out-of-network mental health (behavioral health) benefits?

  • Do you have an out-of-network deductible that has to be met first before you get reimbursed?

  • If you do have a deductible, has any of it been covered yet this year?

  • What is the "usual, customary, and reasonable fee" covered by your insurance for "outpatient psychotherapy (CPT code 90834)" in the zip code 10016?

  • How much of the fee does your insurance cover? This is usually a percentage

  • Is there a session limit?

  • What paperwork is required to submit claims for out-of-network reimbursement? (This is usually called a "superbill" and also a claims form, ask where you can find their claims form)

  • Where do you submit this paperwork? (sometimes it's online, sometimes it's by mail only)
